This is a remix of Omnivore's "Soarin' Through the Ice". It was originally a project for my electronic music class, but after some polishing and editing, I felt it was good enough to sell. There are many influences in this piece that I would like to note, first of all, in the beginning, with the piano, that was inspired by Pachelbel's Canon. Then the violins come in with an original melody I came up with on my own, not found in Omnivore's original, which gives this remix its own original personality. I know its sort of odd for a remix to have its own melody, but I figured it fit really well. After the violins come in, the drum-line (which I spent days perfecting) was inspired by Best of Times by Kyle Gabler, from the game World of Goo (best Wii game of 2008 by IGN, and a personal favorite of mine.) I have been playing a LOT of Little Inferno, and listening to World of Goo music since the two games are created by the same developers, and I just thought that the drum-line in that one piece was so incredibly epic, I just had to make something that could create that same feeling. After the build, about 5 minutes, the strings play something that was inspired by some of the music in Avatar: The Last Airbender (best show on planet Earth). I decided to use a snowstorm-wind sound to add an ominous atmosphere to the piece, and it worked well because this piece is inspired by Winter Wrap Up, seeing as its a remix of a remix of Winter Wrap Up.
